DAILY NEWS Webbie Arrested, Facing Drug Charges After High Speed Chase Published: Monday - September 15, 2008 | Comments (2) Louisiana rapper Webbie was arrested over the weekend in Mississippi after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase. According to WAFB, Webbie peeled out in his 2009 Dodge Challenger after the police tried to stop him for a traffic violation. Authorities claim that during the chase Webbie crashed into a 1999 Mercury Cougar but kept going. The police stopped to tend to the occupants of the Cougar and lost the rapper. His vehicle turned up a while later in a Wal-Mart parking lot. According to witnesses on the scene, Webbie got into another vehicle, a 1993 Ford Crown. Police later caught up to the Ford where the apprehended the rapper. The two other occupants of the Ford were not taken in. Webbie was charged with one count felony eluding, one count of driving under the influence, one misdemeanor count of marijuana, and one felony charge of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle. The marijuana was found in Webbie's Challenger.
